FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ::

Q: Can I use TRUism in my bike work stand?

A: Sure, when the bike is in the work stand, simply open the brake quick release, slip
on TRUism, and start truing your wheels. Some people prefer working on a table as
it gives you a better view of the rim and truing indicator.

Q: Is TRUism just for road bikes?

A: Yes, TRUism is designed specifically for caliper road bike brakes and will not
work with cantilever or disk brakes.

Q: Which road brakes are compatible with TRUism?

A: Any caliper road brake with concealed handlebar brake cable routing works with
TRUism,  including Shimano, Campagnolo, SRAM, Cane Creek, and many others.

Q: How accurate is TRUism?

A: TRUism is as accurate as Park Tool’s most expensive truing stand, up to 1/1000th
    of an inch (.025mm).

Q: Does using TRUism improve braking?

A: Yes, out-of-true wheels adversely affect braking performance and brake pad life.

Q: Does TRUism increase wheel longevity?

A: Yes, over time, any spoked bicycle wheel will gradually start to go out of true.
Keeping the wheel in true with proper spoke tension will prolong the useful life of
    the wheel.

Q: Does TRUism come with a spoke wrench?

A: No, you must supply your own spoke wrench which fits your particular wheels.

Q: Can TRUism check vertical as well as lateral trueness?

A: Yes, if you remove your tire, you can extend the indicator screw and use it to
contact the top edge of the rim for vertical truing. However, most new V-section
rims are so strong vertically that this isn’t needed anymore.
